It’s not every day one has the opportunity to perform with one of London’s top youth and world music groups. Alpha post grads managed to do both in just a few days. This past week Alpha saxophone, trombone and keyboard players joined with the Youthsayers group for a ska workshop and last night were featured on the National Theater’s River Stage on the Thames, a summer music series that brought 1000 people to hear the Fontanelles, a Fela Kuti-style jazz band who graciously invited the Alpha musicians on stage, Check the video below!.

Alpha’s trip to London is made possible by British pop group Madness (named after the Prince Buster hit), Raw Materials Music, a Brixton-based youth music organization, National Baking Company and Alpha Boys School Radio.
